The South American, heavily armoured herbivorous glyptodont, Doedicurus, lived during the Pleistocene and Holocene periods 2 million to 8,000-7,000 years ago.
The animal was related to present day armadillos, sloths and anteaters and had an average overall length of around 3.6 m (12 ft).
It had an unusually shaped shell and a bone club-tail that may have been used in trials between males or defense against predators such as Smilodon.
Replica measures 18cm x 7.6cm.
